The Office of the Inspector General, within the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, today organized the event for the presentation of the 2025 General Inspections Report, attended by the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, representatives of domestic and international institutions, development partners, the business community, and other key stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized that the adoption of the Law on Inspections marked the first step towards a comprehensive reform of the inspection system, while the 2025 General Inspections Report demonstrates the progress achieved in implementing this reform. He underlined that inspections are a key mechanism for ensuring the rule of law, protecting the public interest, creating a fair market, and strengthening citizens’ trust in state institutions.
Addressing the participants, the Inspector General, Ms. Lyra Osmani Ahmeti, noted that the report is being published at an important stage in the consolidation of the reform, as the system transitions from establishing the legal and methodological framework to its full implementation in practice.
She emphasized that the Report presents not only the results of the work carried out by the Office of the Inspector General and the inspection bodies, but also demonstrates the gradual transformation of the inspection system in the Republic of Kosovo into a modern, transparent, professional, and effective system that contributes to improving the quality of public services, protecting citizens’ interests, and creating a favorable environment for economic development.
The 2025 General Inspections Report presents the achievements, challenges, and recommendations for the further advancement of the inspection reform, reaffirming the commitment of the Office of the Inspector General to building a unified, efficient, and accountable inspection system based on transparency, professionalism, and accountability.
