The Central Inspectorate of Cultural Heritage operates within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and is responsible for cultural heritage inspections. This inspectorate has the mission of inspecting the cultural heritage with the aim of ensuring compliance with the legislation and promoting the improvement of management and care for the proper preservation, protection and conservation of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Kosovo, including the archaeological, architectural, movable, cultural and immaterial/spiritual landscapes. Independently inspects cultural heritage assets in order to assess the conditions and state of preservation of cultural heritage in accordance with the legislation on cultural heritage and related legal acts, undertakes concrete actions against the parties in cases of unauthorized works that damage the assets of cultural heritage and takes care that through the actions defined by the laws in force, the same return to its previous state.
