This special inspection unit operates within the Kosovo Agency for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety. The mission of this inspectorate is to monitor the type and activities of radioactive substances, devices that generate ionizing radiation, the implementation of radiological and nuclear safety according to national and international laws, regulations and standards. Inspects and checks every location and facility, where there are data or suspected to have sources of radiation, devices that generate radiation, radioactive substances, radioactive waste or nuclear material, checks the conditions of insurance, radiological, nuclear safety in all locations and facilities within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, where it is suspected or there is preliminary information about such activities.
