Organizational structure
The organizational structure of the Office of the General Inspector is as follows: Office of the Executive Director; Division for Inspection Methodology; Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination. Total number of employees in the Office of the General Inspector is 12.
Office of the Executive Director
The Office of the Executive Director consists of three officials: Executive director that is the General Inspector; Senior executive officer; Administrative officer.
Division for Inspection Methodology
The Division for Inspection Methodology (DIM) operates within the Office of the General Inspector. This division plays an important role in advancing the standards and principles of all inspections, to ensure an effective and coherent approach.
DIM supports the Office of the General Inspector, through the performance of tasks from the field of inspection methodology, specified in the Law on Inspections. The Inspection Methodology Division is headed by the Head of the Division, who reports to the General Inspector General. This division employs 4 officials.
Duties and responsibilities of the Division for Inspection Methodology
Advancement of Inspection Methodology
The Division for Inspection Methodology supports the General Inspector, line ministries, and their units in improving the inspection methodology, aiming to achieve and establish unified standards and principles for all inspections.
Drafting Performance Guidelines
The Division for Inspection Methodology drafts general guidelines for performance indicators for inspection activities.
Supporting Joint Inspections
The Division for Inspection Methodology supports central and local inspectorates in executing their joint inspections, based on their yearly risk assessment programs.
Consultations on Checklists
The Division for Inspection Methodology offers regular advice on the creation, content, and inclusion of checklists in the digital platform (e-Inspektimi). Consultations are mandatory before the approval of checklists.
Drafting Guidelines
The Division for Inspection Methodology methodically creates guidelines for collecting and handling samples, according to the type of inspection and the methodology of cost calculation.
Coordinating Training
The Division for Inspection Methodology coordinates the training and certification process for inspectors under the Law on Inspections.
Coordinates Annual Plan Drafting
The Division for Inspection Methodology also coordinates the process of drafting yearly plans based on risk assesement.

Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination
The Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination (DISC) operates within the Office of the General Inspector. The Division of Inspection Supervision and Coordination provides advice and support to inspectorates, from drafting standard documents and inspection procedures to drafting sub-legal acts.
This division also collaborates with central and municipal level inspectorates, and manages the electronic inspection system “e-Inspektimi”. The Division of Inspection Supervision and Coordination is led by the head of the division, who reports to the General Inspector. This division employs 5 officials.

Provides Advice
The Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination offers advisory opinions on standard documents and inspection procedures tailored for specific inspectorates. The main purpose of the advice is to ensure the proper implementation of legal requirements for inspections.
Drafts Sub-legal Acts
The Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination assists the process of drafting sub-legal acts according to the Law on Inspections. Also, the division provides opinions on every legal and sub-legal initiative in the field of inspection taken by the government based on the principles and rules determined by the Law on Inspections.
Cooperates with Inspectorates
The Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination provides advice and coordinates the activities of central and municipal inspectorates. The aim of this interaction is to ensure that the principles and procedures set by the law on inspections, including the inspection procedure, are strictly followed.
Manages the Electronic Platform for Inspection
The Division for Inspection Supervision and Coordination coordinates tasks related to the development, administration, and maintenance of the electronic inspection platform
“e-Inspektimi”.
Drafts Reports
